Favourite country to combine golf and travel:

If we say “good weather”, add “picturesque corners” and finish with “gastronomy and lots of art”, what comes next?

We could start by telling you about the 3000 hours of sunshine that attract so many golfers, but there is something more interesting to highlight: each Spanish region is so different and unique, that you would want to visit them all to play every course, from one end to the other.

There are more than 400 golf courses in Spain and just as many experiences as there are destinations.

Your experience starts in the north...

Imagine touring the 2,000 kilometres coastline in the north of the peninsula called España Verde (named for its lush nature). Play golf against the cliffs in Cantabria, the region where Ballesteros was born. Relax on the unspoilt beaches of Galicia's natural parks or marvel at the marine geysers of Asturias after an intense day of playing golf.

We move south...

Three World Heritage Cities: Ávila, Salamanca and Segovia. An area where you can enjoy a good suckling lamb from Castile-León while recharging your batteries after playing on one of the region's 30 golf courses. Are you more cosmopolitan?
Make the most of Madrid's cultural offerings and discover the route of the Austrias, with an obligatory stop for a squid sandwich near the Plaza Mayor or a "Cocido madrileño" stew accompanied by a good amontillado wine. And above all, play golf in any corner of the Region of Madrid, one of the most golf-loving regions in Europe, with more than 100,000 registered players.

The Levante awaits you...

The Balearic Islands are enchanting. Perhaps it is the turquoise beaches, remote coves and mild climate that attract millions of tourists year after year. Travelling golfers find Mallorca to be the ideal destination for playing golf while enjoying their family holidays. Sun, sea and golf ist he perfect balance between "fiesta" and relaxation.
And once back on the mainland, another great golf destination in Spain awaits you. Catalonia has 45 courses and the opportunity to enjoy experiences as different as playing in the foothills of the Pyrenees, on the beach on the rocky Costa Brava, or in the heart of Barcelona, a modernist city full of culture, art, and life, all in one single trip. As you continue further south along the coast, you will reach the Region of Valencia, bathed by the Mediterranean ocean while holding the highest number of blue flag beaches.
Stroll through the old quarter of Valencia, visit the City of Arts and Sciences and have a paella that will leave a lasting impression, or stay in a resort on the Costa Blanca and play golf near the spectacular cliffs of Altea. For a beautiful finish, the Levantine coast in the welcoming region of Murcia offers an average temperature of 19ºC, ideal for playing golf 365 days a year.

You have arrived in the south…

Andalusia, a favourite destination due to its climate, with more than 90 golf courses to choose from. Visit the Nasrid architectural jewels of Cordoba, Granada and Seville, or explore the miles of unspoilt beaches of Cadiz and Huelva.

The region of Jerez (The Sherry region) offers must do experiences, such as wine tasting or sipping a glass of brandy after finishing a round of golf. The Andalusian province of Malaga and the famous “Costa del Sol”, renamed “Costa del Golf” with its 30 courses on 400 hectares between Marbella, Estepona and Benahavis, is an obligatory stop for any travelling golfer.

Beyond the peninsula...

A paradise exists, where you can taste volcanic wines, snorkel with loggerhead turtles and stroll through emerald laurel forests. The Canary Islands have it all: orange deserts that look like the grounds of the planet Mars, turquoise beaches with tongues of white sand and golf courses surrounded by the deep blue Atlantic Ocean. Playing where the sea breeze leaves a taste of seasalt on your lips is addictive, so be warned.
